Recommendations

Develop a mechanism for conducting self-assessments andcapturing lessons learned for IMPEP on a regular basis.

Develop formal procedural guidance for identifying whatinformation is needed about Agreement State programs andmaterials licensees in the event that an Agreement State is nolonger capable of adequately performing its function ofprotecting public health and safety for an indeterminate periodof time.

Develop a set of procedures that standardizes communicationsfrom NRC to the Agreement States.

Develop a standardized data collection process that can beused as the basis of an information sharing tool on a nationallevel.

Revise the applicable IMPEP procedure(s) to include a reviewof Agreement State events that are not recorded in NMED foran analysis of whether they should have been included inNMED.
